Hello :)
Basically, I lost a cichlid this week with an unknown disease causing Dropsy (So I assume, swollen stomach, eyes, stringy poo and no appetite) I also assume this was caused from stress of being bullied by my Tropheus Duboisi fish.
However, my Tropheus seems to have possibly the start of a similar disease, looks fine, still swimming about, but a complete personality change, hiding out, not eating (as much) and and not swimming about (as much) usually he is extremely active, hungry, and odd occasion aggressive.
Question i have is, shall I give him an Epsom salt bath\ dip in hope to catch a disease early? Or is this likely to just stress him even more transporting to a tank etc and make the disease (if there is one) come faster? Or am I best off just doing water changes and crossing my fingers. I have performed a 50 percent change past 2 days and I'm about to do a 3rd.

Please advise :)

Not advisable to treat fish without knowing what may ail them.

@Colin_T , have a look

Hi, yes incoming, just noticed he has stringy white poo also, but as I say he hasn't been eating like he usually does.

Any info would be great, just tried to feed this morning and he is still darting about like his usual self but just spitting it all out instantly, I havnt seen him eat in about a week, but still tries.

Just want to know if an Epsom salt bath would be more beneficial early rather than waiting for him to swell and die like the other, or if the salt bath will just be even more stressful
