I put the bio wheels in my 10g so bacteria could build up on it then soon after one of my fish died of gill lukes and another fish has died earlier in the year from the same thing and was wondering if I could still use the bio wheels or would I be taking a chance of infecting my 55g of gill lukes?

I don't know much about gill flukes, but I wouldn't be risking it. They may not transfer from the media, but why take the chance of spreading it to the other tank?

Durbkat don't run the filter in the affected tank i will pass onto the other tank, if you already have the filter in, sterlise it and the sponges.

I'm not using the filter from the 10g to put in the 55g I'm using the filter in the 20g to put in the 55g and I think I may just replace the bio wheels so I won't be taking a chance on the fish I had for a long time to get sick.

If you're worried about cross-contamination, just give the biowheels a good soak in a water and bleach solution. 20:1 mixture is what most people use, but I usually used a 10:1 just to be safe. Then give them a good rinse in tap water and finish it up with a soak in tap water with 4 drops per gallon of dechlor (double recommended amount for chloramine). At this point they will be devoid of all life and ready to be repopulated with good bacteria.
