To put 2 plecs together in one tank?

I have a large adult and one baby together in one tank (baby was added after adult), and they are getting along just fine, however I was wondering if once the baby gets older will they start to get violent towards each other? I read in a book that males do tend to fight, but I'm not even sure how to sex them.

Depends on what kind of plec, and how big the tank is - but usually it's fine Bristlenose males can be aggro with each other sometimes, but not always. Commons and most other plecs will be fine as long as they've given enough room and their own hidey holes. If they're getting along ok now, then I dont see why you couldn't keep them together in the future. The aggro in my tank has only been when another plec has been added, but even our latest scuffle between two adults only lasted one night
