Hi,

I have a 9 inch pleco in a 180 litre tank, similar to rio180. at the moment im running no co2 (as that just confuses me tbh!) and have a sand as a substrate!

Im planning on adding new substrate in the form of pea gravel, but am wondering what would be advisable to have included with it if anything to help the plants grow, as many of the plants i had before didnt last too long (browned and leaves deteriorated)

The pleco is also a problem as hes 9inches and still grow, on one side i want a nice planted tank on the other side i cant get rid of him!

Any advice! On the pleco substrate or co2!

Cheers

The plec will treat any planted tank like an all you can eat salad bar.

Its him or the plants.

mine is going, i have a 9" common plec, he eats my amazon swords but i have just come home from school and every plant except a few have been uprooted, i wouldn't reccomend it.
