I think this must be new tank syndrome or something, but I am actually funding an URGE to clean my tanks a lot. Like, I know not to take too much out at a time, but is there a problem with the frequency in which you perform these small (10-15%) changes?

I gravel vac my tanks twice aweek, but you can over do it, as long as you are not cleaning the ornaments to much, do you just remove the water, can you say what you do .

You really cannot over do water changes if you keep them small..doing a 50% change everyday may stress fish out but a 10% is ok..I do daily water changes and have had no problems what so ever..I just make sure the water I add is about the same temp and free form chlorine..

if you have a problem in your tank..say ich*...small water changes may not cure the problem if fish are dying

*only used ich as an example so please don't post on how to cure ich..
:)

you can overclean your gravel, but the only way you could do too many water changes is if you're adding chemicals (meds, salt, fertilizer). even then it's not an issue if you've got the ratios spot on.

a 10% daily is always what i recommend for cycling with fish anyways.

You can over clean gravel, i have to have corys and over feed always have and goldfish big waste producers.
