Yeap that question again.
Had tropical fish for about 4-5 years now but just up graded to a 4 foot tank(about 115 liters I think) and just want to make sure its not over crowded as it looks it a little  Think I may have gone a bit fish happy when I got the bigger tank

Its mainly a tetra tank;

5 black widow tetra
5 neons
1 cory
5 head and tail light tetra
5 guppies(thinking of putting in their own tank)
5 tetra that I dont know what they are, they look like mini black widows but red fins
5 glowlight
11 swordtails
6 shrimp

48 fish in one tank is to much in my opinion, but if your ammonia levels etc are fine and you arnt having any fish getting stressed then it should be fine but if you bought alot of them recently then i'd suggest taking about 15 of them back to the fish shop and also corys are schooling fish and may get stressed when alone :)

Lew.

as long as you have a nice big external filter then you'll be fine, get a fluval 205/305 (very cheap of ebay) i've always kept my tanks with all the little fishes in, overstocked on purpose coz i like it looking busy but i always use a much larger external than needed at least two decent sized airstones and regular water changes.

what are the height and depth dimensions of the tank? a 4x1x1 tank would be around 113 litres?
Do you have a pic of the unkown tetra? could they be serpae tetras ?

if the tank is 115 litres then yep you are slightly overstocked,
But I would also say that your lone cory realy needs more of its own kind

hes the only cory left at the moment, the local shop hasnt had any in yet but I am looking at getting some more as soon as they have them in, I could happily have just a tank of cory they are by far my favorite.
yes its a 4x1x1. I knew I shouldnt have got any more! was buying them steadlly, not in one huge go and every thing seems ok at the moment(fingers crossed) Been sitting remebering when I just put the black widows in thinking how great it looked, and now its to busy.
thanks for the replys least I know how many to reduce it by, thanks

Dont really want to take any back so probs set up another tank and maybe get rid of some swordtails.
