I have 1 male and 1 female betta, both in their own tank, but the tanks are next to each other. The male flares to the female once in a while, but the female never shows breeding or stress stripes, because they've lived next to each other for 2 months now so guess they "know" each other.

My female has become plump I guess with eggs, but I do NOT want to breed bettas, will the eggs be absorbed by her? Is this ok to happen? She is not ill or has dropsy, this only happened once I got the male.
