shes getting old a few years is a long time for them, i suggest not breeding her as this may kill her just observe and see whats happening :)

Platy life span is abot 2-3 years to my understanding. And there is nothing to do but cherrish her dusty ol scaley buttocks.

You say the little platys top fin..a peice of it is falling out? Sounds like something ive never seen before. Could you post a picture?

If your platy was bitten it should grow back fine in time unless you see cloudyness about the ripped parts...that is fin rot and should be treated.

But falling off? Please post a pic i am very interested.

its like just a tiny piece of its fin kind of fell off i guess :good:

Does it seem to be growing back by now or getting worse or staying the same?

With good water quality due to weekly water changrs the fin should grow back fine. Just watch to make sure no cloudy edge starts to form where the piece is missing as that can indicate fin rot and should then be treated for fin rot

thanks i might post a picture if my old platy with my little platy together ok ;)
