Is it normal for the gupies gravid spot to be constantly changing. My preg. guppies gravid spot changes from dark black to orange(with no black at all), and I get all scared thinking she had her babies, but I look at her and she is still fat, eating like a pig. Then I go pack later on and the spot is dark black again. This morning I checked on her again and it was back to orange(with no black at all). Is this normal and why does this happen? Is she ready to give birth? If so then I have to run to store to buy another breeders net, since my other guppy had her babies already and they are in the one I have already. Or can I put this one in that same breeder? Since she won't be hungry when she is giving birth or do you all think she might be aggresive and kill my fry?
Gravid spots in guppies change color. All of mine do that. When the lights are off they turn light orange and pink. Then right back to black. It's normal,I'm not sure why it actually happens. I wouldn't put the gravid female in the breeder net with babies in it,they DO get hungry when they drop. My females have eaten flakes AND the babies during dropping.
