I'm looking for another female molly to go with my male dalmation lyretail molly. but i'm not sure what the difference is between marbled and dalmation all the female dalmation mollies i see are more white than black while my male is more black than white. I keep tring to find a female that is more black than white but i can't why is this?

The difference is marbled is any two colors together, dalmation is black and white. :)

If you breed a more white then black with your male, you'll basically get the same results if you bred a more black then white. Of course, it all depends on genetics...but it's usually pretty close to the same. Also, the females you are seeing may be young, as some Dalmation Mollies will get more and more black as they age.

ive put different girls together to make some cool babies. one marbled (orange/white) one dalamtion, one black. so far the fry are looking awesome. i have 1 male now, he a marbles sailfin molly. orange with black spots. i have pics in the aquarium pics discussion. my point is, i recommend different types of females. you get some cool results. :)
