i have now had one of my bettas for about 4 or 5 months now, he has done, and looked great since i got him until recently. over the last 2 weeks he has continued to eat well, but his colors have become dull and i have noticed within the last day or so that he has little white flecks throughout his body and fins.(his body is black with a red wash over his fins) it doesnt look like ick but i dont know what else it could be. (iv had other fish that have had ick so unless it looks different on a betta i know what it looks like) he has also become much less active recently. he is in a 1 gallon tank, that recieves regular water changes, and his tank stays at around 75 degrees. (yes i know bettas should be kept more in the 80 degree area, and in a larger tank. im working on it) im still trying to get a clear picture of him to to show what i am describing, but if any one has any idea that could help then please tell me.

theres something wrong with him if he has lost his colour and got his stress stripes. A pic would help if you can get one, how often do you change the water, do you add dechlor? Can you get water stats? If the white looks like grains of salt then it is ich.

One of my old boys gets ich quite often, I just make sure his water is super clean, although he hates getting cleaned out. I have an identical tank so I put water in that with dechlorinator and tiny bit of salt and ich stuff. It usually goes in a day or so. Good luck! :good:
