I rescued this guy a few weeks ago at Petco. He was all alone in a tank with a few large angelfish. I was sure he wasn't supposed to be there because I had never before seen Petco selling any endler livebearers. It looked as if he would soon become lunch for the angels so I told an employee and he gave me the fish for free. 
So I've always assumed he was a guppy/endler mix but now I'm not so sure. I googled guppy/endler mixes and he didn't seem to match any of them. Normally he looks like this:
But sometimes, when he's trying to seduce my pregnant platy, some black streaks come up on his body and he looks like this:
Is he really a mix or has he been a true endler all along?
