Is a 38 litre or 10 gallon (roughly) big enough for a pair of pearl gouramis to breed?

It is a Aqua One Aquastart 320.

For one pair only, 10 gall is sufficiant, but you would need plenty of hiding places as the male would bully the female too much.

I agree, plenty of caves or tunnels for the female to hide but also I would not suggest putting any other fish in the tank as I some gouramis can get aggressive during breeding.

Not sure about Pearls but Gouramis (well and most fish really) can get rather aggressive around breeding time.
