hi all

i have a 36w light, and i want to know is that enough light to grow plants comfortably?

if not hoiw much more watts of light would i need?

tank dimensions:
120 x 40 x 35(cm)

thanx all

You have less than 1 Watt per Gallon which is classed a very low-light. Possible plants that may grow are Anubias, Java fern, Java moss and some Crypts.

You will increase you chances of success with these plants if you use a full-spectrum tube and reflector.

To stand a better chance I would at least double or triple your lighting. You could fit longer tubes in that size tank too.

yeh im gonna buy an extra light, which will be alot more powerful, and be in that 3000 - 7500K range.
which will be white, (as the one i have now is pink and doesnt look natural)

does the colour of the light affect its effectiveness? like is a pinkish light more effective than a whiteish 1? etc

the color of the light has to do with the kelvin range, so yes, certain colors are better for plants....if you stick in the 5000-6500K range, you will get a nice, white color (similar to noontime sunlight) that is good for the plants too
