i have an elite 200w heater for my tank.

just want some advice wether its big enough or not?

also it dont have a guard on it is that dangerous?

If you look at about 1w per ltr the heater you got should be fine, regards the heater guard, depends what fish you have?

It's fine.
50 litre aquarium : use 50w Smart Heater
100 litre aquarium : use 100w Smart Heater
150 litre aquarium : use 150w Smart Heater
200 litre aquarium : use 200w Smart Heater
300 litre aquarium : use 300w Smart Heater
Over 300 litres : 2x 200w Smart Heaters

I just put the wattage sheet up not sure on the brand.
Never used rena heaters so couldn't say.

You do need a heater guard if the heater exposed seen quite a few post on burnt fish because of heaters.

You should becuase your plec may rest on it but if you have it vertical then thers less chance, i have a plec and my heater at a 45degree angle

I dont have a heater guard, mines also on a 45 degree angle... Im getting a plec this weekend, do i need a guard?

Everyone should just buy a heater guard, there around 99p each and even if never needed, its better to be safe then sorry. My plec practicly lives behind the heater so without mine there'd be trouble.
