Is 2 degrees too harsh of a change in temperature for a betta?

When I do my water change, I have to use room temp water because I need to use the bypass valve on my water softener to get hard water. There's no option for hot or cold, it just comes in as the outside temperature. I then let it sit to get to room temp. I try my best to get it as warm as possible before adding it to my 78 degree heated 10 gal betta tank, but it still brings the temp down to 76 in the tank until the heater can get caught up. Is 2 degrees down too harsh of a change to happen so quickly? Do I need to invest in another heater to heat the new water?
