First up is the ruins of Clonmacnoise abbey, which was built from 544 AD onwards and ransacked numerous times by vikings
Which is why they built these towers which had a door quater way up, they pulled the ladder up with them and could safely dump boiling water onto anyone trying to climb up...
Obvioulsy the monks got a cowboy to build this one, barely 1400 years and its in a right state...
