Introduction

Hi! My name is Andrea and I am the proud new owner of a gorgeous opaque male crowntail. I'm not new to bettas at all, about 2 years back I owned 8 veiltails...4 males and 4 females and I bred them as well. Since that time our tanks had gone through quite a few different disease attacks and I had lost all my fish.

I took up land hermit crabs about 3 years ago and now I'm an old pro where they're concerned. LOL But my interest in bettas is once again renewed and I'm looking forward to bringing at least one more male into my home, a HM Butterfly (providing I can find a place to buy one locally (Calgary, Alberta) without spending hundreds hehehe).
The crowntail has some deformity of the fins, some coiling. So I got him for a really good price. He's my baby. hehehe
I decided to name him Flare, because in all my time caring for and breeding veiltails, I never saw such spunk. This guy looks out the tank at nothing and flares like mad! He's like the "Manx" of the betta world. LOL

Otherwise, I'm from Canada and I'm a wife and Mother of 2 young sons, and otherwise owned by 3 male cats, 15 land hermit crabs and so far 1 betta. hehehe

I look forward to getting to know you all and delving back into the world of bettas.

Wow, thank you all for the warm welcome! I have discovered aquabid thank-you...and what I wouldn't give to bid on some of those gorgeous fish. LOL But...I must hold myself at bay....

Hehehe....have a hubby to waste our money and kids who need to be fed and clothed (whether they deserve it or not some days LOL)

So it's on ME to be responsible...BUMMER! LOL
