Introducing the Crooooaaaking Gouramis!

I absolutely adore my croaking gouramis. They weren't so pretty in the pet store, but now they're just gorgeous, imo. They're a crack up too when they start croaking. I think these may be some of my very favorite fish.


This pic is the "attack from below!" That croaker on the bottom was laughing evilly as he slyly shot upwards to surprise his unsuspecting partner.

This is him again... acting like a little baby. This picture absolutely cracks me up - look at the expression on that face!! He says "Moommmm.... please don't take my picture, I'm having a bad fin day!!"

Bear with me, there are more gouramis besides those two. Here is my female dwarf gourami, she's a neon blue I believe, and is currently living with the croakers.

And finally, the King of the 10 gallon - "Humperdink". He's huge, bigger than most full-grown male dwarfs, and he knows it. Beats up everybody, and won't let any fish get in his way. He's pretty though.. so he gets away with it.

awwww,they're all gorgeous. But...I love the croakers!!! Omg, how stunning are they?!? I think FOTM for the pic that you said was your fave....I loved it!

Wuv - My female gourami thanks you. Often she is a tad overlooked, as she isn't brightly colored. However, personally I find her silver really gorgeous.

Heather - They do look a bit like bettas don't they! To tell you the truth, I hadn't noticed... but you may be right about why I like them. I hadn't quite put my finger on it. )

cometcattle - Yes, I can most definitely hear them when they croak! They're actually pretty darned loud at times!!

Edit: Forgot to thank you guys for the nom's too.... these are my first FOTM nominations, and I'm excited to know it won't be mainly cichlids and guppies and such in the competition next month.
