I currently have 1 oscar...he is about 4" in size and I've had him about 1.5 months. He is about to be moved into a 150gal(uk) tank. Is it ok to introduce another oscar at this point (who is the same/similar size). The current tankmates with my oscar are 4x angelfish, 1x 7" plec, 2x 3" plec, 2x corys, 1x red tailed shark and 1x featherfin cat.

all but the plecs really.

jus some will last longer cos they are bigger (angels for example).

Oscars grow real fast and youll probably be shocked at jus how big there mouths open lol.

i kno i was!
haha, i've seen the size of his mouth at the moment!!! so, can get another oscar as long as leave the other fish in the current tank...is that advisible?

There are no guarantees with Cichlids, you could add another Oscar and have no problems but they could also end up disliking each other. You have a better chance of this working given your tank size and the fact that the Oscars are young.

Your featherfin Syno should be fine with the Oscar(s) and redtail sharks reach around 6" so should be big enough to avoid being eaten although it will still have to cope with potential aggression. The corys are a definate no-no and Angels would be a risk but not impossible.

sorry, didnt see the syno. i have a featherfin in with mine and hes fine.

also have a RTBS but im not sure that will last.

doesnt really matter with size or it doesnt seem to with my oscar. if anyone sits still long enough hell drift slowly up and try take a bite. hes too slow to get anywhere but its funny to watch lol.

hes only 7" too so i dread to think what hell be like at 14"+

Just keep an eye on things.. if you start to see the oscar constantly harrassing the sharks, remove them. I used to have a rtbs with some JDs.. one night I noticed the rtbs had a couple scales missing.. thinking nothing of it I left it in there.. the next morning I woke up and the rtbs was in half, and being eaten. It was a 5'' rtbs and was veeery thick. The JDs were only about 5'' too.

My oscar tries to take a bite out my pacu every once in a while, but the pacu is too fast. The pacu hangs around the oscar all the time waiting for it to...well...clear its bowels...so it can feed. Very gross, I know...

I already moved the shark once when I first got the oscar, as he was chasing the oscar! I put him back in later when the oscar had been there a while and they seem fine now...there's plenty of hiding places. I'll keep an eye on them as oscar gets bigger and certainly have places he can moved to if trouble arises :)
