Just testing my water before thinking of adding some fish this afternoon maybe dwarf gourami ,I added three baby corys last week with no problems.
I did a 25 percent change and a gravel vac on wednesday, readings were all zero and PH 7.5 .

Todays readings

Nitrite 0
Nitrate .5
PH 7.5
Ammo 0

Any advice appreciated its a 12 ltr tank, been cycled for a fortnight after weeks of water changing.

Stocking so far is 6 Danios
6 black tetra
3 baby corys

12 live plants

Is this a 12g or a 12 litre tank?

If its a 12g I would say you are fully stocked already, if not slightly overstocked, if it's a 12 litre then you are heading for disaster!

Is the tank now cycled? If not you shouldn't be adding anything even if you had room.

Sorry mate thanks for the reply its a 120 ltr tank its early !

Was just curious to why the nitrates have risen ? Just as well I checked before going to the lfs !

Phew! :)

The nitrates are the end product of your filtration so they will always rise, that's why you do regular water changes as part of tank maintenance. The fact you have plants will not mean you have zero nitrates at all times.

Phew also lol

Thank you Aqua.

Just got back from LFS and was planning on two dwarf gourami and came back with two golden platys and two blue rams, does this always happen?
I also added a plastic toy clam that opens to let air out just for fun and extra oxygen.
Oh and an extra log to centre pice the tank as it looked a little bear.
