Hey all, found this forum while looking for pictures of tanks to help me decide what fish to get for my recent setup.

Have kept a variety of things before including various tropical freshwater tanks and tropical marines/invertebrates, but had to cut it all down due to not being home that much anymore.

Have recently setup my Tropiquarium 88 as a freshwater and have got a solitary platy in there at the moment while the filter matures, then I was thinking a number of neons, suggestions? :)

Recently got a collection of plants from java-plants.com, very pleased with the price and the service, picture of my tank included below. :)

:hi: to the forum ChriX...thats a nice tank, you should post it in the members pictures if you havent yet

:hi: to the forum.

Nice tank. Are all the plants real?

Seeing as how you have some experience, all you have to do is decide on the fish. The beginner section or tropical chit chat should be a good place to post your questions.

Are you thinking about breeding or just caring for fish? Because you might be able to keep angels and other cichlids and even breed them. :D

Thanks for the welcome guys. :)

All the plants are real yes, I won't post any pics in the gallery yet, will wait until i've got some fish in there!

I'm just looking to make a nice looking tank (possibly themed) and keep the fish happy. Have had angels before, really like them, they laid eggs but nothing came of it. :(

Hi and :hi: to the forums. :)

Is it 88L? If so that is no where near big enough for Angels. Thirty gallons is the minimum for a pair of Angels with a few small bottom dwellers but if you want more fish you need at least 35 gallons as they can reach 8" from top to bottom.

Thats a sweet looking tank....my platies would sure look good in there

Unfortunately no matter what I did I could never keep live plants alive in my tank :( so I resorted to fake plants which look the same all the time and don't need trimming!!

Welcome to our friendly home

It's 130 Litres, 34 US Gal. 33.5"x14.5"x21.5" (LxWxH), sorry, happened to have the manual on my desk at the time of posting hehe. ;)

Edit: Hopefully i'll have some luck with this lot of plants even though the lighting is only 40w, otherwise it'll be artificial for me. :)

Yikes, I thought your tank was 88 gallons. I thought the tank seemed a lot smaller in the pic. Angels couldn't live in a tank that size- sorry. Gouramis, maybe :dunno:

I was more set on lots of small fish anyway, including neons, and seeing as angels eat those for breakfast (any any other meal lol) it wouldn't work too well. :)
