This is completely hypothetical, as I'm still researching Mystery snails and bettas. But, how would I go about introducing this type of snail to a betta tank? I know that they should be placed in prior to the betta, but if the betta is established can I still go about this?

Should I take my betta out while I let the snail in the tank? Then introduce the betta? I would think this would do more harm than good..
Maybe if I were to put the snail bag/ bowl in the tank and let it float there- for the temperature obviously, and to introduce the two? Or would my betta see the snail as more of a threat?
I also heard of someone taking out the betta for a "time-out" if it nipped at the snail's antennae, and he stopped altogether; even sleeping by the snail when they got used to eachother.

What do you suggest? Please don't tell me these aren't appropriate tank mates; I've heard good stories as well as not-so-good ones, and would be prepared (if I actually got one) to place it in another tank by itself if my betta got too nippy.

I also know that they should be fed seperately- I would be leaning towards lettuce and algae disks; and that they need calcium in the water to keep a healthy shell.

So, my question is essentially how would I introduce them the best? I don't need information about the snails, or the fish, or the parameters.

Thank you so much; I would just like to mention that I love this website. :)

I've always put my snails in first just to let them get good and settled, so when I introduced the Betta he just thought they were naturally there. My male betta is fairly agressive and doesn't mess with the snails at all, apart from the occasional knocking them off the wall of the tank when they are going up for air.
