Interpet T8 Daylight Plus.

I know a little bit about these.

Interpet Daylight Plus are available in T8 and PC T5, but not HO T5.

Output is around 72 lumens per watt i.e. 18w T8 has 1300 lumens, 24w PC T5 has 1600 lumens. Colour temp 6500K. CRI >90. 10,000 hour lifespan.

Best fluorescents I've ever used. Great for green rendition in particular. They have 4 spectral peaks, rather than the regular 3 from tri-phosphor lamps.

Lumen is a unit of light intensity, what the eye perceives as brightness. Lux takes into account surface area too i.e. 1 Lux = 1 lumen per square meter.

Because their (Interpet Daylight Plus) output has its biggest peak in the green part of the spectrum (what the eye is most sensitive to), they appear very bright relative to many other tubes.

IME you won't get a better tube for colour rendition in a planted tank in the UK. Good for growth too, you've seen my nano.

Thanks for that George, Great link.

I agree, the day light plus is IMO is the very best tube for the job, thats why I ask.

Its for possibly my first commissioned job. Ive priced the whole job up for them around their budget so ill see what they say when they see the cost's.

Thanks again George.

Hang on, im trying to work out the Lux per square inch, so do we know the LUX rating on the tube?

Cheers again.

No lux rating. What size (dimensions) tank is it?

Congrats on your first "commission" - the UK's answer to ADG perhaps!?

I hope so, Its a path Ive been wanting to go down for may years now, as my late grandfather and fantastic business man said, " start small end big " and i hope to do just that.

Dimensions are ( Juwel Rio 125 ) 81x50x36. x 2 18W Interpet day light plus tubes with reflectors.
Im just working out what parameters im working with.

Cheers.

You've seen my Juwel Rio 125. That had 4 x 18w Daylight Plus. I could grow anything.

With 2 tubes you are limited somewhat.

BTW Do I get a cut for this help!?

If i was to up grade the lighting its and added cost over £150 ( that includs presurized C02 ) better but ill have to try and convince them to part with the cash. Im confidant that i could give them a nature aquarium style scape with the currant equipment, ill be disccusing with them futher.

25p do ya :p

Any coments on the Rio 125?
