Hi everyone, please can someone help me work out how much interpet no 6 whitespot treatment to use.

I have a 55G tank, it says 10mls treats 22 G, so does that mean I double it to 20mls for 55G? I dont want to overdose on the other hand I want to use enough.

Im about to do a 50% water change before dosing, plus take out the carbon in my fluval external filter and I know I need to raise the temp, is 30C enough or would that be high for the fish?

Tank is Fluval 240L, with 2 Dwarf Gourami (one with the whitespot so far!), 3 Bosemani Rainbows, 3 turquoise rainbows, 1 Angel, 1 L075 Plec, 1 L200 Plec.

Any advice appreciated, im off to do the water change before dosing, thanks all.

First case of whitespot, im panicking

Yes it 20mg for your size tank.

Don't forget to increase aeration in the tank.
You raise temp to 30 and you need plenty of aeration because of the high temp and med, and the fish should be fine.
Good luck.

Having removed the carbon, I now have three empty baskets, should I put some bio balls in to replace them or is it ok to just leave them empty??

What are bio balls?

What are bio balls?
The white tube like things that are in the filter!! Arent they called bio balls?

Also, how long does it take for the whitespot stuff to go clear, right now its bright blue in the hot water that was used to mix it, as per instructions, it just says wait until its dissolved, im confused

Ahh oops not bio balls, they are bio rings apparently, according to the fluval website.

Well added the treatment, water is a bit blue, but I assume that will disappear with time.

Just another question, do I do another 50% water change BEFORE the second dose on day 4 or not??

Doesnt say to on the box but on other threads here it say I should.

If it dosn't tell you to do a water change before the next dose don't do one, as it should say so.
Good luck.
