Interpet Finrot No. 8 And General Tonic No.5

hi

I dosed my tank with interpet general tonic no. 5 on mon, it is now weds.

i did this as one of my fish was gasping at the surface. I though it was finrot but I had no stuff to treat it.

she died over night. when i got out of the tank she had jagged fins.

the thing is now i have the treatment interpet finrot no.8. i did a 40% water change on tues and put in the black filter cartridge.

do you think it would be safe to put in the fin rot.

I have a baby platy with fin rot and he looks weak. the rest of the fish seem ok at the moment.

in the guide you get with the treatment it states to wait 7 days days and do a 30% water change before dosing.

Can any one advise?

get an air pump as the gasping is a cause of lack of air in the tank and do not do any more treatments at the momment and keep doing 50% water changes a day if possible and what are your parameters?

the baby paty is not grasping. it just wobbly. keeps falling on its side.

Don't buy them tonics a waste of money.
Need tank size in gallons or litres, plus full stock list of fish, and stats in ammonia,nitrite,nitrate,and ph.
Put black carbon in to remove the med, then later add the finrot med it might not do the job if the bacterial finrot is bad sometimes you have to add a bacterial med as well, good luck.

The finrot is mainly down to water quality, can you issolate the sick fish with the finrot, you might have to be prepared to lose them as bad water quality takes it toll on a fish causing there immune system to shut down, so good luck.

i dont have another tank.

i have put him in a breedin box, which can be used for sick fish. hes stoped feeding so i dont he will survive
