I logged on to post about my blue platy problem and see someone already has a thread about a yellow platy with the same issue. White strands coming from her underbelly. I see someone said its probably internal parasites or something

What I dont know for sure is where she'd have gotten it from. I've had her in the tank for roughly 6 weeks or so and no one else in the tank is sick. I DID lose a mollie awhile back but when I found him he was stuck under the sponge filter so I think that is how he died.

Thing is, I THINK she gave birth because in my tank I have 2 orange platys, and 3 orange babies that obviously came from them...but I also found 2 babies that look more like the blue platy who is female..no orange in them at all. I mention this because every since those 2 babies showed up..the blue platy has gone way down hill...she's very skinny and ill looking..like she's wasting away..and she also has very fine hair like strands coming from her underbelly. I doubt she's going to make it through the night to be honest...literally just wasted away to nothing in the last 2 days or so and now she's laying almost on her side on the bottom of the tank.

so all that said...what EXACTLY do I need to do? My water parameters are all fine ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 40 (due for a change tomorrow). I have a bunch of other fish in this tank that I dont want to lose. I feed them regular tropical flake food and occasionally sun dried baby shrimp.

Signs of internal parasites are.
Long stringy white poo, or clear mucas poo.
Being thin or bloated.
Worms prutruding from the anus.
Enlarged anus to red inflamed anus.
Sometimes bents spines.

If you thinks it internal parasties you will need to treat with levaimsole.

Long stingy white poo can also mean constipation, bacterial infection, internal parasites.
