i see signs..

since haven't had them for while.. fish r eating fine.. what is the best medicine for tropical fish internal parasite?

(i live in uk.)

ta..

How many gallons is the tank.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

Signs of internal parasites are -
Long stringy white poo, clear mucas poo, red poo.
Worms prutruding from the anus.
Enlarged anus, red inflamed anus.
Fish will look skinny or bloated.
Sunken in belly.
Bent spine sometimes.
Fish will sometimes swim on it's side.
Not eating sometimes.
Flicking and rubbing.

What symptoms are your fish showing?

Got some wormer plus. Waiting delivery.

Dos it kill crabs?

Which fish are affected.
Also tank size,How many fish, and water stats would be good.

If it's camallanous worms you will have to treat once a week for 4 weeks. After the first course back up with a bacterial med. As internal parasites cause bacterial infections.
If the fish are infested with internal parasites the damage could of already been done. As internal parasites damage the organs of the fish. You still have to worm the whole tank to save the test of the fish.

I would remove the crabs as the med can kill inverts.

one altum angel.white poo.
and a tiger barb. skinny tummy.

450l tank - two ex. two in. filters - two 15w uv. year old setup.

8 angels, 2 feather fin synos, 2 butter fly fish, 10 tiger barbs, 4 perl guramis, one small red claw crab.. (find him out side lfs.)

water stats r good 0,0, and 25. (due water change)

thanks for the reply mate..

Keep the thread updated if you don't mind.
Good Luck.

will do... waiting for wormer plus to be deliverd.

only worry is dead snails... they going to be mess as i have them few..

Once you see a dead snail remove it. As they can become toxic to fish when there start rotting.

ok.. recived wormer plus today.. too bad the the tiger barb died last night.

my tank is 450l.. i got 1 inch sand.. 2 inchish 3d background..

wormer plus is 0.3g for 114L of water.. so i add 0.9g to some water..mix it like milk.. and add it in the tank over an hour.

tank is cloudy for 2 hours. then cristel clean then befor.. :look:

could not find the crab as i cannot move the bogwood or plants... hoping for the best... he normaly lives on the top of the 3d background.

8 hours now.. fish seems to be happy. (no sign of the carb)

might do another dose 7 days later. getting two yellow discus in this sunday....

no dead snails..

all alive..

i wonder if the treatment worked..

Wormer plus dosn't always work on camallanous worms.
The best med in the uk for cammallanous worms is the sera med.

What does it say in the instructions on dosage for camallanous worms.

ohh.. doodle... forget an carbon sponge in one of my externals....

the pack says.. i could re dose in 7 days.. if needed..(i do!)

when shall i do it again..? last time i did was wednesday i guess.. and had 100l water change today,,

thanks..

How old was the carbon in the tank?

Do another dose on wednesday then.
Don't forget to remove black carbon.
