Internal Filter Spitting?

ive got a MAGIC-JET 1000 internal filter in my 5ft tank, just cleaned the sponge yesterday and the filter seems to be spitting, like air bubbles every now and then. Is this just maybe an air lock or something?

Yep... theres air in there by the sounds of it, take it apart and re assemble it under the water... or just give it a good shaking, again under water to dislodge the remaining air, as long as its still pumping water its doing no harm to the pump - but you ought to release the trapped air.
