Interesting Species Only Tank!

Hi everyone, need some help please.

Have recently bought a new Rio 125 tank, which is 33 gallons.

I want a species only tank, but unsure what.

Preferably fish with great personality and interesting behaviour.

Oooh, this certainly opens up possibilities. A couple of suggestions off the top of my head (I am assuming that you have basic experience):

some nice goodeids - check out the BLA trade page if in the UK

a pair of apistogramma cichlids- as in the New World cichlid forum

a single rainbow snakehead (channa bleheri)

smaller Tanganyikan cichlid species (ask in Old World cichlid forum)

Galaxy Rasboras or whatever their new name is. Then you could breed them.

I would put in one or two archer fish! They are awesome fish, spitting water at insects and what not. They would definately be a conversation piece. I also kept 3 South american leaf fish in a 30 gal once, and they are awesome too. They are very predatory and look cool.
