Very interesting read. That just goes to show you what some people will do to make a buck. I mean honestly the people who import these fish know what their adult size is, but they sell them anyway. It's almost like they are doing it on purpose. Granted, there are a few people that can actually afford to house these fish.

IMO, the inclusion of pacu and pangasius makes it more a list of fish you shouldn't buy than a list of fish that shouldn't be taken from the wild, as both are heavily farm bred. Sort of like talking about leaving cows in the wild instead of bringing them home as pets. There's enough species in the trade that are endangered by the hobby (denisoni, celestial pearl danios), or endangered by other means (most of Lake Victoria, Endlers) to fill a similar list.

There is a sign in my local MA indicating an adult pacu will need a tank the size to fit in a large van!
