the shop has a tank full of 2" oscars, and all the red tiger oscars (10 or so) were swimming up the top whereas all the albino oscars (10 or so) were all in the bottom right hand side of the tank. the 2 groups were totally segregated from one another

bloomin racist fish! Mollies are the same, i have black and silver mollies in together and they swim in two seperate shoals! Amuses the customers no end, sometimes to throw a spanner in i put a few dalmation mollies in and they divide themselves up between the two shoals!

Yep but black and silver mollys are diff fish...Oscars are Oscars!

Black Mollys and Sailf Fin/Silver Mollys are 2 different species.

The point was...All Oscars are Oscars....Mollys is a name given to a large group of closley related species.
