Hi
I've got a live plant coming on monday/tuesday and want to know if they need any special care?
Do they need constant light? Artifical or real?
Also are Vallisneria spiralis suitable for Simease fighting fish and head and tail tetras???
Any help would be appreciated.

THANKS

10-12 hours of lighting and a bit of aquarium plant food now and then should do the trick. I have live plants in all my tanks and have weeded out ten times as much as I started with. The fish you have should not be a problem for the plants. Try not to let natural sunlight on the tank for algea reasons and avoid putting in algea-eaters that also eat plants.

for a smaller tank like yours usually a single modern flourescent bulb will supply enough light for the plants.
