Installing Blue Led - Will Cause Algae Growth?

Hello i might be mistaken or miss read but i have blue LED stips in my Discus tank (moonlight) when my light goes off 9 hours a day the blue LED comes on for another 3-4 hours and switches off just before i head to bed.... My question is: will it cause algae growth or does it only happen with Tubes which have some UV light in it... Are blue LED safe to use?

those LED strips from ebay will give little UV light if any at all, i dont think they would contribute to algae growth, as plants will use anything from 2-18k blue LEDs are in the 20-25 k range so algae shouldnt be able to use the light
