Hi
I have had my tank set up now for around 3 months. The tetras have been in there since day one, and the Inpaichthys kerri for around a month. So far everything has gone ok.
I have lost a few tetras, but i have put this down to cycling with them. I also lost a betta but this had a fungus/white spot.
The neons i have now all have developed a white spot/lump kind of thing on their lips, they have had this for around 4 - 6 weeks, i looked into it and treated with velvet control but it didnt go away. It doesn't seem to cause any distress to the fish and they still eat and act normally. But im wondering if there is anything else i can do?
Now the Inpaichthys kerri today have delevoped an ilness, i have come home from work and one was around the top of the tank gasping, i have done a water change and tested the water that came out, the results were
Ammonia : 0
Nitrite : 0
The water is changed every 5 - 7 days and i change 50 %. The filter media is cleaned in old tank water approx every two weeks.
I have moved the fish to another tank and now he is really struggling, i have had to turn off the filter as it is blowing him around and he is just gasping for air. The water in the other tank was treated with conditioner and velvet control, i cant imagine he has long left.
What concerns me is the other one (i have two Inpaichthys kerri's) is now hanging around the top of the tank, not acting strange, just sitting there. Both fish still have full vibrant colour.
Whats going on? My fish seem to develop a ilnesses but i maintain the tank regular
Thanks
Matt
