Somehow, and I have NO idea how, my male molly got wedged underneath some rocks. I guess he moved them around trying to get bits of flake that had fallen and somehow buried himself and was unable to get back out? I have no idea how long he was stuck like this as I found him around 11 am the other day when getting ready to feed them. (The longest he could have been stuck would be almost 12 hours.)

Anyway, I was able to save him and he's doing fine, but...I've never had an injured fish before as I pride myself in taking good care of them, so I'm wondering if it is normal that the large wound on his back has turned white. It looks kind of like fungus, but he acts completely normal and is eating/breeding just fine. I'm considering putting some external parasite/fungus killer into the water just to be cautious, but wanted some second opinions, first. Is this possibly just part of the natural healing process? Dead skin falling off?

I don't like to use medications when they aren't necessary, so I'll add some of the stuff if you think I should.

As to the topic description: First, female guppy that just doesn't seem to want to have babies. (It'll be four weeks that I've had her here at home this morning and she's looking even a little fatter. Still no babies...) Then, this male molly going and injuring himself. Let's hope this bad trend doesn't continue...

I would add some medication, that way he will not chance infecting any of the other fish in the tank with something different.
