Hi everyone I really need help. I have a rainbow gourami that I got from a really reliable fish store. I have a 75 gallon tank with probably about 10 fish. I brought the little guy home and put him in the tank, watched him get used to it for about half an hour, checked on him every once in a while and he seemed fine.2 weeks have passed and a few days ago I realized he was missing. I looked around the tank and found him struggling to swim on the gravel. My other fish nipped at his tail fin, top and bottom fins. He seemed
to eat and was avoiding the other fish so I left him in the big tank for 2 days. He started to get a little fuzzy on the niped parts so I moved him to a hospital tank.
He just seems to lay there on the bottom but swims to the top for food or if I slightly tap on the tank to make sure he's still alive. I know fins grow back if the main tissue isn't damaged. It looks like the tissue wasn't damaged but I think it is infected. Any suggestions or medication recommendations are really helpful. I've heard maracyn 2 works for practically all infections. I just hope the little guy can make it. He does nothing but lay there unless he absolutely has to move.
Thanks for reading and like I said any suggestions are very much appreciated.
