Hi All,
I transferred one of my golden barbs from an existing community tank to a new (fish-less cycled) high tech planted tank. Unfortunately he managed to get himself stuck between some hardscape and the aquarium wall at the back, so it took me some time to see him and free him.

He has lost a section of scales on one side, and it looks like he has picked up an infection (its about 24 hours since he was freed). Please see the picture below:

How can I treat this, if there is anything I can do at all? I have lowered the temperature of the tank and dropped the lighting down, added stress coat and he is the only fish in there at the moment.

Tank size: 150l
pH: 6.8
ammonia: 0 ppm
nitrite: 0 ppm
nitrate: 20 ppm
kH: 12
gH:
tank temp: 23C

TIA :good: ,

Rich

That nasty can you issolate him.
I would add some myxazin by waterlife.

He is essentially isolated - only fish in this tank as I moved another barb I moved with him back out anticipating I would need to medicate.

Obviously its a little late to head out now on a Sunday, but provided he is still in the world of the swimming tomorrow morning I'll get some then.

Thanks for your advice!

Do you have any melafix.
How many gallons is he in as I would add a little salt.

Fortunately I have not had any need for any anti-bacterial agents in four years of fishkeeping, so unfortunately I don't have any in.

Its a 33gal (48x12x12) tank, and I have already added the recommended dosing of API salt.

Ok, good luck.
