Well I managed to release the dojo from the castle. Now I've noticed a few of my fish have whitespot! My little pleco and my other loach. I think one of my corydora's have a couple spots too! I think the dojo being stuck caused a lot of stress in my tank because the larger pleco was totally freaking out.

I've put in Melafix for the injured dojo but now I have white spot to treat and the Ich-X says do not use with any other meds.

I have angels, dojos, corys, tetras, platy, rasboras, bolivian rams, and plecos. Will they all handle the salt treatment? And if so, how much salt do I use per gallon?

Sorry to hear things arent going well for you.
Plecs and corys don`t take well to salt, however i have successfully treated tanks before with both plecs and corys using malachite green but using half the stated dose on the bottle.

Just dilute the melafix down with a 40% water change.
Then add the whitespot med.
You can use melafix with parasite meds.
Also there antiseptic in whitespot meds.

Did a large water change tonight about little over 40%. Added 1/2 of the white spot treatment Ich-X. I have a neon tetra and the loaches are scaless so I didn't want to do the full dosage. I've noticed the largest of the loaches has 3 spots down his left side so I'm going to keep an eye on him to monitor the Ich.

Ouch, you are really having a rough few days Shelby!

Perhaps raise the temp upto 84F (or a fraction higher) aswell to speed up the Ich cycle and kill most of the spores outright over 14 days?

Yes Goat I have! The good news is I did a 1/3 water change again today and redosed the Ich-X and instead of 3 spots down his left side (the large loach) he now only has one.

I think I've battled Ich about 20 times (so it seems anyway) since I started and I've always had the loaches and they've never gotten it before. Neither have the plecos. I think because the pleco's lived in the castle and the big loach was the buddy to the medium one that they just got stressed over him being stuck in there and that is what caused it.

Hopefully it is under control and won't get worse! :good:

White spot is gone. I lost a corydora and a junvenille loach :( the rest of the fish made it through.

Thanks for the update.

Always best to treat another week once spots have disappeared.
