I have a 190ltr tank coming soon and want to set it up as a lake tank. After cycling I would like some advice as to which species and how many for the initial stocking.
My tap water is perfect for a lake tank PH8.0 and GH15+. Any species that are colourful and easier for a lake beginner!!

Thanks, Mark.

The easier basicly less agresaive species generally suggested and commonly found include
(for A Mbuna tank see pinned article)

Labidochromis Caeruleus

Psedotropheus soulosi

Iodotropheus Sprengerae

Pseudotropheus Acie

Consider three of these species with ideally 1 male four female of each if you want an all male tank things are slightly different. another fish compatible would be synodontis petricola

Many other cichlidds will work though so see what you like by checking around the internet or your local fish stores and come back with some questions

I agree with vantgE, there are so many to choose from. Your best bet is to do some research and see what you really fancy, then post your choices here to get some advice and opinions.
