I am starting a 10g tank with 3 types of plants, bananna fruit, sweet flag and something else. The sweet flag is stripped green and white and thin rising to surface. This is starting to brown.
I got some plant food from PetSmart that was recommended. Its iron based. Doing only a little.
Where can I find out information on good aquarium plants and how to maintain them,
TIA.

Well, too bad you didn't do some research before you started your 10gal tank. Do you have any fish in it yet?

Most important thing is light if you want live plants. At least 2 watts per gallon. With a 10 gal tank you will need 2 flourescent light strips. One is not enough for most plants. Lights on 10-12 hours per day. You cannot leave them on longer to compensate for the intensity (wattage). Second most important thing is the substrate (gravel, soil, etc.)

There are many different methods when considering planted tanks. I posted some of my methods in this forum under "Can't keep plants alive". Check it out.
