what fish can live along side a femail convict cichlid? i have already been told rams but that about all i know

I would say no to rams. You can try red terrors , jacks , texas or another covict. it will be hit and miss , how big is the convict and how big is the tank.

Some texas cichlids can be real mean and get over twice the size of a female convict (if it's a male) so i would watch out with them

Pleco's, bala sharks, speedy fish and the like may get along. Females tend to be less aggressive, so experiment.

what about tiger barbs?

Yes they would go in great. But get 6 or more. Add rocks and plants for territory sakes, none rip up plants. If you want a pleco add a BN and provide several caves.

tryed the other convict approach and it did not work at all almost killed the other convict so im down 2 1 con now and wanted a little more in ther are we all sure tigers will be okay as i dont want to get them and have to return them shortly after lol i nkow convicts are a pain n all lol
