What I mean by indirect light is when you can't see the light on objects, but it lights up the room alittle. I was so excited about buying a 125g and setting everything up until I realised the light issue. :/ I wanted to put holey rock, but it's white and I don't want it and my tank to look like a green/brown slimy pond....

are you concerned about indirect sunlight and it causing algae outbreaks? if so, then i wouldn't be too concerned. the amount of light added indirectly would be rather small and also would probably overlap with the times you have the light-hoods on anyways.

i say that you should go on ahead and get your white rocks (although if its tufa, it will buffer and raise the pH of your tank).
