Is it ok to put a leaf in with dave, and always keep one in there?

also i wanted to put one in with my girls too

any suggestions/ideas/help?

Hi
We were told that Indian almond leaf, IAL, is fine for bettas. Let it float on the top and it will eventually sink. Leave it in for about 3 weeks after that replace it cus it might start going mouldy.

aww wicked, i was thinkin about it 2day, and i know its good for them

i shall purchase some 2day :)

Daves still all bloated, but still active as usual

He bit my dog 2day LOL, my dog got the lid off daves small tank and stuck his nose in, so dave bit him, flared and thrashed about

ive never seen my dog run so fast

Reminds me of my Mason. He jumps clear out of the tank for his food, and then flares at me when he misses, like it's my fault, lol. :fun:

lol classic isnt it lol

does it matter about using the IAL when my filter has carbon and zeocarb in it?

No...wont make any difference, just go ahead and plop it in :good:

just ordered some and also attisons betta spa too

should be here in a few days

Where from? lol i was thinking of buying some but have only seen them on fleebay :)

I've read that with 20 IAL leaves you can make 2 litres of betta spa!! I have a mahoosive bag of leaves so i'm gonna give it a try.. Apparently you boil the leaves in a gall of water, leave to stand overnight, boil again and reduce down to 1 litre. Remove the leaves, add to another gall of water and do the same process again... Got to be worth a try???

I'm not sure I understand the reasoning behind that last step of adding a gallon of water and boiling down to 2 liters. Why not just add a liter of water and be done with it?

or save ur self the money and buy the spa, its only a fiver lol

ud spend more than that making it with 20 IAL and all the electricity lol
