seems like every 4th of July, I think about red white and blue fish… I found these pictures knocking around the internet, and admit I’d buy any of these on sight…

I think these are both bred in Thailand, imagine how many fish had to be bred to get fish that look like these???

One has to wonder about AI doctoring. The top fish is too perfect. I've seen that basic morph - they were big about 15 years ago and then seemed to fall out of the stores with changing fashions. But that kind of 'crisp' perfection is often fake.

We live in times like that...

these were “supposed” to be show fish… doesn’t mean the pictures weren’t doctored though…

the 1st one is supposed to be in the Netherlands

A Betta splendens with the colours of France? For me, that AI photo is finny

It's actually a Netherlands flag which has horizontal red, white and blue stripes. The French flag has vertical stripes :) And Magnum Man said it was supposed to be in the Netherlands.

Here is my male half moon Plakat Koi Betta. He’s got that red, white, and blue coloring.
Plakat bettas are a short-finned variety of Betta splendens known for their robust bodies, intense coloration, and high activity levels. Because they lack heavy, flowing fins, they are strong swimmers and are generally hardier and less prone to fin-nipping or fin rot than long-finned varieties.
Aint he purty!

He is pretty.

Red, blue and white/silver fish aren't rare, but clean lines like the one in the photo from the dealer are hard to believe. Jackson Pollack unnaturally patterned fish, especially Betta splendens, are out there if you go looking.

My cardinal tetras have white bellies with the red and blue stripes. They could satisfy the patriotism of a few nations with those popular colours. But if you put them in with Hyphessobrycon heterorhabdus, the Belgian Flag tetra, they could lose out badly.

Check out the coloring of this awesome betta splendens :p
