Hi, i've read that when you cut off Java moss tips they will regrow, and it is a faster way to make a carpet .

Does that apply for Christmas moss also?

If not, alllll you pros out there maing carpets, please tell me what the fastest way is.

Thanks in advance.

The fastest way to make a carpet is to buy Riccia.

Leave it a net or plastic clear container floating under the lights for 1 week so that it doubles (or even trebles in size) and then hairnet it to a piece of slate where you want it to carpet.

This is assuming youve 2WPG or more of lighting.

See Jimboos journals for how his Riccia carpets in his tanks from tieing it down to a full carpet in 3-4 weeks.

He also has a pinned article on creating Riccia and Moss Carpets so well worth a read.

Takashi Amano also uses Riccia prominently for this purpose.

I think it regrows. Try it and see. If it doesn't grow then you will know. I do think it regrows though. :good:
