Increase algae growth

I recently introduced 2 Ghost Shrimp into my tank to clear up a bit of Algae I had growing around the bubble tube, but they've eaten it all now, and I'm worried incase they have nothing to eat and starve.

Is there any way I can boost the algae growth in my tank, so that they have a constant source of food?

Seriously though... get some rocks and but them in water in the garden in direct sunlight... once they have algae on - take one out and put it in the tank (might be good to rinse it first) then when its gone, swap it for another

They'll eat fish food too... they'll probably prefer it.

I have to encourage algae in my hillstream tank and I do it by leaving the lights on longer than normal (from 8am - 10.30pm).

Does the trick for me. I doubt the shrimp would prefer prepared foods to be honest if algae is what they eat naturally.

They're detrivores naturally.
