Inbred Platy Fry?

Hello. I'm new and have some questions.

I'm sure it's just as simple as something just didn't go right, but it's worth asking.

A few months back one of my Platys gave birth, and I managed to get 3 survivors - All female. One is now in the community tank with the rest, happy and healthy. However, the other two seemed severely stunted. They never seemed to grow past a few weeks old - but they got all their coloring. They were super skittish, and about 10 times smaller than their sister. They also never seemed to gain any girth. Their eyes were very big and black, and their bodies were super slender and rectangular. I'm sure they would have lived for as long as I kept them, But I moved apartments and I think they just got lost in the shuffle.

Yes, how exactly did you loose a couple of animals while moving apartment?

What size aquarium did you raise them in and did it have a mature filter? How often did you change water?

I moved apartments and I think they just got lost in the shuffle.

Slipped, tripped and fell out the tank? Now roaming around like the characters of toy story looking for their way home?

Seriously, how do you "loose" two fish moving from one place to another? Have you looked under the decor, in or around the filter housing etc? They must be there, unless something else in your tank has had a tasty snack?

I presume by "lost in the shuffle" she means died maybe due to stress of moving from one tank to another, rather than actually misplacing them. Perhaps it wasn't handled very well, these things happen.

Yes some livebearer fry can be a bit odd and stunted sometimes. Inbreeding, overbreeding, etc.
