i have quite bad algea problems mostly dark green in patches my BN female i dont see much and doesnt seem to be helping in the battle between the algea. I notice if there is a big gap between feedings in my tank they start to slowly eat some algea, i am pretty sur they do this in the wild could i now only feed once a day instead and let them nibble the algea away slowly.

Se sig for fish list.

That wouldn't do any harm Ginge but i would look to reduce the lights on time for your tank, this will have a greater impact.

I've had that problem in the past and just left the lights off for a week and that cleared the algae up completely. Of course, if you have live plants, this approach would kill them off aswell so may not be an option.

So far its working well not fed them since this morning and by now there all going crazy eating algea along with my rusty pleca and my BN plec should be clean soon.

Good stuff, Mbuna like Algae just as much as most Plecs and it is natural for them to graze on it, they'll be quite happy. :)
