In Memory Of Blanca

This has been a really bad week for me. Today marks the second day I've lost a fish, and she was one of my favorites. Her name was Blanca. I rescued her from Petco. After buying her, she looked really unhappy and I found out that was because she had velvet for god knows how long. I treated her and she really perked up. She turned a rosy color and had such a timid personality. She also had great eyes. Well I thought I'd upgrade her living condition and put her in a 1/2 gallon bowl with a small world filter. Well I put her in last night and when I woke up this morning, she was dead. Her gills were very inflammed and red and there was black carbon dust from the filter all over her. Her death was totally my fault. If I hadn't put that filter in her bowl, she would still be alive. : (

Awww hun i am so sorry to hear that *Hugs* please don't beat yourself up about it these things happen and you wasn't to know so its not your fault

I am so sorry she was so cute. Mistakes happen and you rescued her in the first place. I failed to notice a faulty heater the other week and cooked my 6 year old catfish, I have only just come to terms with this. Hugs to you....xx
